The architectural firm Desmond and Lord collaborated with
that of John Carl Warnecke and Associates, becoming
Warnecke-Cannon, later known as Cannon.
Summary: Warnecke-Cannon and its predecessors (as well as
Paul Rudolph Associates) designed buildings for the
Commonwealth and the private sector in Massachusetts. Plans
of buildings and structures include architectural drawings and
structural plans. State buildings represented include the
areas of human services (sanatoriums, hospitals, laboratories,
training and research facilities, and correctional
facilities), transportation (rapid transit stations), and
education (universities and colleges); also post office, court
house, and airport buildings. Private sector buildings
include apartments, hotels, and theaters. Elevations and
sections are included. Drawings are on linen and paper on
cloth, and include blueprints and diazotypes.
