The Connecticut Historical Commission and Office of Connecticut State
Archaeology are the lead agencies for preservation of the state's
archaeological and historic heritage. The quide presented in this
document provides references to documentary, architectural and archaeological
survey reports conducted in accordance with federal, state, and local
regulations regarding cultural resource protection. Surveys within this
guide are housed in the
Archives & Special Collection, Thomas J. Dodd
Research Center at the University of Connecticut, Storrs.

This guide is intended to provide researchers working in this
region with an overview of the available literature and
previously completed surveys. All of the documents listed in the
inventory are archived in the
Archives & Special Collection, Thomas J. Dodd
Research Center at the University of
Connecticut, Storrs. The surveys are organized 1) By Town Survey, Statewide Survey,
Regional Survey or Thematic Survey and 2) Then the surveys are grouped within three
catagories -- Architectural, Archaeological and Documentation.
