Snook Kill
Snook Kill projectile points represent the local manifestation of the
Susquehanna Tradition in southern New England. This type is diagnostic of
the Terminal Archaic Period (ca. 3600-2700 Years BP). Other Susquehanna
types include Genesee and Susquehanna
Broad. Snook Kill points were usually manufactured of non-local flint
and chert and rarely from locally available material. Many examples of
this type exhibit considerable amounts of resharpening, which has led some
to suggest this class of artifacts was used as a knife rather than a
projectile point.
