Systematic Sampling Strategy

In a systematic sampling strategy, the goal is to provide equal, and unbiased coverage of a suspected site. This method is useful for determining the boundaries of a site.

In constructing a systematic sampling strategy, excavation units area usually distributed across the study area in a way that will provide equal coverage to the entire area. In this case, the 5x5 meter squares are evenly spaced at 20 meter intervals across the site.
